CAMDEN, N.J. - The Philadelphia 76ers have traded the 23rd overall pick of the NBA draft and Danny Green to the Memphis Grizzlies for De'Anthony Melton, said a person with knowledge of the situation. The Sixers selected Colorado State's David Roddy Thursday night and he will be sent to Memphis, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade was not yet official. The Sixers were only scheduled to have the 23rd pick in the draft.

UCLA guard Peyton Watson will be on the move to Denver to join the Nuggets. He was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 30th overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, the final selection of the first round, but was rerouted to the Nuggets in a trade.
Watson was a five-star prospect out of Long Beach Poly High who earned McDonald's All-American honors. He was ranked the No. 1 in-state prospect in the 2021 class by 247Sports.com when he committed to the Bruins and Coach Mick Cronin.
But the 6-foot-8 freshman joined a veteran Bruins team that was coming off a Final Four appearance and...

The Chicago Bulls selected Arizona guard Dalen Terry with the No. 18 pick in the NBA draft on Thursday, adding wing depth to their roster as the team looks to build around DeMar DeRozan for the 2022-23 season.
The 19-year-old averaged eight points and 3.9 assists in his sophomore season with the Wildcats, serving a utilitarian role for the Wildcats that highlighted his ball movement and defense. Terry helped lead Arizona to a Pac-12 championship ahead of a Sweet 16 exit in the NCAA Tournament. At 6-foot-7, Terry will add length to the Bulls around the perimeter, a factor the undersized...

NEW YORK - The question for weeks leading into the NBA draft was whether the first pick would be Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren or Jabari Smith Jr.
The answer finally came Thursday night - and even Banchero didn't know it until moments before the announcement of the Orlando Magic's selection.
“I had a feeling from the information I was being told is that it was just kind of up in the air,” Banchero said. “Orlando wasn't really sure yet, and just to be ready for whatever,
“I didn't find out, though, that I was actually getting picked until about 20 seconds before the commissioner got on the...

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Trail Blazers selected Shaedon Sharpe with the seventh pick in the NBA draft on Thursday, taking a chance on a player who never suited up in college.
Sharpe, 6-foot-6 wing from Canada, was a five-star recruit who committed to Kentucky but never played for the Wildcats. He intended on redshirting his first season, but instead decided to declare for the draft.
“Going from high school to college and not playing your college season and then straight to the NBA,” Sharpe said. “It's quite the journey but every step of the way I've just fought and had fun with...

As expected, the Orlando Magic didn't use both of their second-round picks in Thursday's NBA draft.
The Magic traded the No. 35 pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for a 2028 second-round pick and cash, a league source told the Orlando Sentinel earlier in the day.
Orlando announced the trade Thursday afternoon.
The second-round pick will be the better pick between the Lakers' 2028 second-rounder and the 2028 second-round pick the Washington Wizards owe the Lakers as part of the five-team trade (Brooklyn Nets-Indiana Pacers-San Antonio Spurs-Lakers-Wizards) that sent Russell Westbrook to Los...
