    Gov. Gavin Newsom lashed out again Wednesday at UCLA over the university's decision to move its athletic program out of the Pac-12 Conference and into the Big Ten starting in 2024, saying the school needs to publicly explain its reasoning and how the move will benefit student-athletes.

    Gavin Newsom railed, the UC regents convened and UCLA's departure to the Big Ten remained squarely in the political realm. But on an eventful Wednesday in San Francisco, nothing suggested the Bruins won't jump conferences in the summer of 2024.
